Outstanding JE Pistons Forged for a Reason - Check Why Here
JE Pistons
JE Pistons When EBS Racing builds an engine, we only use the best components available. An air-cooled Porsche flat-6 engine is capable of immense power, and forged pistons from JE Pistons help us to achieve the ideal balance of power and reliable operation. Our clients expect our motors to propel them to victory, and JE Pistons helps us to deliver. That’s why we’ve become the biggest stocking distributor of Porsche-related JE Pistons in North America.
The JE Pistons
Difference
Stuttgart designed its air-cooled engines to handle whatever
the road could throw at them. But if you want to build an engine that can excel
on both the road and the track, then
you need to run a set of forged JE Pistons.
Forged For a Reason
To create the piston for your 911, a semi-molten chunk of
aluminum is placed into a hydraulic press, where it’s forced into shape under
extreme pressure. By contrast, a cast piston is made by pouring liquid-hot
metal into a mold. The difference is; as that hot metal in the cast piston
cools, it becomes porous and susceptible to cracking under pressure. The forged
metal on the other hand, is formed by pressure, which results in a denser metal
composition. This allows JE Pistons to have superior tensile strength, and
allows them to withstand the intense pressure created inside of a high-power
engine.
2618 Aluminum Alloy
In a JE Pistons...piston, the increased strength created by
the forging process gets significantly amplified by the type of metal that they
use. 2618 Aluminum Alloy contains just 2% Silicon, which allows for tighter
cylinder-wall clearance and superior resistance to thermal expansion which
occurs during detonation. JE Pistons are used in 1000+ hp racing engines in
NASCAR, NHRA and ALMS. And we have a warehouse full of forged JE Pistons, just
waiting to help you win.
JE Pistons History
Started in 1947, JE Pistons is one of the largest
manufacturers of high-performance forged pistons in America. Their Irvine
California manufacturing facility uses the latest state-of-the-art equipment,
and maintains current ISO 9001:2008 quality control certification. From their
computerized design process, to the rigorous quality inspection methods, you
can be sure that Dr. Porsche would approve of their pistons being used in one
of his cars.
